VIDEO: Psycho magpie caught on camera swooping in and attacking Australian cyclist

Dramatic footage, filmed from a GoPro camera, shows the bird pecking repeatedly at the bicyclist’s helmet.

Like a real-life version of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," check out this terrifying moment a psycho magpie repeatedly dive-bombed a defenseless bicyclist in Australia.
Dramatic footage, filmed from a GoPro attached to the back of a helmet, shows the feathered fiend crossing four lanes of traffic and then swooping nearby as cyclist Trent Nicholson rode down a Shellharbour road in Wollongong.
With a mouth full of worms, the winged raider gets closer on each aerial assault. Finally, after mustering enough confidence, he pecks Nicholson six times in 13 seconds.

The cyclist, who said he was uninjured from the unexpected bombardment, uploaded the clip to YouTube on Sunday.
"For most of the year, magpies are fascinating and endearing native birds," he wrote in the video's description.

"However, during breeding, a small percentage of them can be aggressive, swooping at passersby in their territory," he added. "Just avoid the known area for a couple months is my best advice."
Magpie breeding season started in September, Perth Now reports. And it revealed that Magpie Alert, a website devoted to tracking magpie attacks, has recorded 273 attacks in New South Wales this year.
