A
lifeboat crew was mobilised to save the
trapped cow after it fell from some cliffs and into the sea
Stricken:
The cow trapped in the sea
A
cow was left stranded at sea after surviving a tumble from some cliff.
Three
people in a boat tried to save the stricken animal, which was trapped near
rocks after her fall.
When
a lifeboat crew arrived, they joined forces with the people trying to rescue
the stranded cow and used ropes to heft her ashore at Creadan Head, near
Waterford, Ireland.
Milk
of human kindess: The cow rescued by the coastguard
After
yesterday’s rescue, RNLI Deputy Coxswain Ray Power said: "The lifeboat
crew noted that the small boat was not in actual difficulty but was trying to
rescue a cow which had fallen over a cliff and was stranded at the bottom.
"The
RNLI crew helped the three people by setting up a rope system for them and the
cow was brought ashore safely.
"As
a lifeboat crew we never know what we might be facing each time we are called.
"In
this case thankfully the actual call was not as serious as we first thought,
but we were glad we could help all the same and bring the cow to safety."
